Tommy (Darius McCray), vive um ex-detento e a grande luta em tentar reconstruir a vida. Em busca de trabalho encontra muitas dificuldades e uma senhora Memaw, a grande oportunidade enviada por Deus. Vovó Memaw, abre então as portas de sua casa para Tommy e compromete-se a ajuda-lo e na oportunidade, vê-se uma oportunidade de encaixá-lo no coral da igreja regido por Charles (Kirk Franklin), mostrando-lhe que Deus pode cuidar dos seus problemas. As oportunidades podem ser jogadas fora por serem corrompidas pela amizade feita com G. Smooth, um pequeno traficante.
